Sweet Evil is such a mandatory album to have in the collection. So thankful it has been released on CD!

I saw him on the same tour that was recorded for the Derringer Live album (77, 78?), this was my favorite song from that show....He was opening for Foghat....BLEW THEN AWAY! The foggy mountain boys were downright boring after watching Derringer for an hour...

Rick, Thanks for all the years of great music! I know for a fact the I melted two of your cassettes (I'm 53 years old) in my car stereo while in high school.

Love how Danny Johnson while soloing is generally unencumbered by mundane, pedestrian concerns such as the actual KEY a song is written in. His stuff sounds unique because it's so oblique to what the rest of the band is doing at any given moment

Dang, that intro is out of control...floors me the same way as the intro to I Play Guitar. Easily without doubt the best rhythm guitarist ever to grace the planet. If I were compiling an all-star band this gentleman would absolutely be my 1st choice for rhythm guitar, hands down. He's a fricken metronome. And listen to that wicked slide, though he rarely plays it he's a great slide rider as well, you can really hear the influence of his buddy Johnny Winter.

Rick, I am a 53 year old helicopter pilot, and (thank God) more recently, the leader of a rock and roll band. You were my original guitar hero, sir. Your guitar work and production values embodied something that I couldn't put my finger on, back in the 1970's; Musicality. Pop sensibility. Team spirit. (You and Edgar & all the Blue Sky gang) Tight musicianship. Fun. Joy. Thank you for all did, and thank you for all that you continue to contribute to the community of guitar players. Love u, man

One of the BEST guitar lead offs to a song EVER. Makes me feel like going out & racing a big V/8 3/4cam duel Holly 500hp car! This song, like the car, is hard to beat! Good guitar, good lyrics.

I'm totally jealous. These guys only made it to my part of the woods sporadically. Rick is one of my all time favorite guitarists.
