I so love songs about yearning. Not just about romantic love (like with this song), but about any kind of longing, for anything. I think the feelings of yearning, longing, and wanting to belong (to anyone or anything) are just so universal to the human experience, you can apply lyrics about those sensations to everything and everyone. I can't imagine that a feeling like "I don't want to fade away." hasn't manifested itself somehow in every one of us at some point.
