If at all, I interpret this song not about Christianity or religion, but about hypocritical people who claim that they know what is right and what is wrong, and impose the same ideals to other people. Those also includes politicians and authoritarians. Not a criticism on the message itself (values, morals, ideals) but criticism on the messenger.13 years ago

I'm not too well informed about the bible, but from the lyrics I assume this is about ( not exclusively christian(Since the christian viewpoint would be one of a westerner)) arrogance claiming that they "own" the only and only real god themselves, in spite of every religion somehow borrowing heavily from other ones. @finnsia Minus the fact that the title is "John the Revalator" also known as the apostle John, a somewhat famous Christian prophet. It's kinda specific if you know what I mean. Besides I thought artists like people looking into their work trying to understand deeper levels of meaning.13 years ago
