With the Beach Boys, even the drummer sings better than many lead singers from other bands.

some of the clips are from an actual promo done for the song - the footage of the choir recording it is anyway. One of the threads on the programme on the smileysmile forum has Ed Roach talking about filming it + the "my name's Dennis Wilson and I make rock'n'roll records" bit with that shirt tied round his neck. (part of the thread's pretty bleak re his last years/days and peole who were close who tried/wanted to help him. If you find it, be careful reading it).

Brilliant song, up there with the best of The Beach Boys.

Dennis should have received a lot more praise for this in 1977. He was always self-doubting himself with this album! He never really knew what he meant to his fans. I think he just thought he was a drummer and a sex symbol to his fans, though we all know he was obviously pretty good at both of those titles as well!

*Dennis Wilson* from his 1977 Caribou album *Pacific Ocean Blue*.This record was MIA for many years and it's reputation grew. Re-released on CD in 2008 in a 30th anniversary 2 CD package (also containing the unreleased *Bambu* album). This "lost classic" is every bit as good as the critics and collectors say it is!
