I have seen interns conduct better interviews.

This interviewer freakin sucks! She's mono toned and asks boring questions. What was this interview for, Sixteen Magazine or something? You could tell that Dennis didn't want to even be there and there's times where he doesn't even look her in the face. I don't blame him for ending it early...

If this was truly 1980, then I can attest that by the fall of that year he was trying to live healthier. I met him in December 1980 and he looked healthy and was "with it". I too am sad that Brian did not recognize the immense talent in his bro. It is too bad that Brian stayed in bed for all those years. We are lucky that Dennis produced "Pacific Ocean Blue". We are also lucky that Brian is out and about touring and enjoying life. Peace.

I spent several weeks on the road with Dennis the summer of 1983, 6 months before he died. If you think he looks bad here….

The person doing the interview is asking some lame questions, but Dennis handled it well, we miss you Denny.

Which, in this interview, he was obviously so.

Dennis was quite sharp (3 sentences ahead of her) & notice a sincere focus when he spoke with people. The reporter was too robotic-- he picked up on it!

I can't totally hear everything Dennis is saying, but I can hear the interviewer. She's kind of unprofessional, and asks really dumb questions...sort of what Dennis eluded to as well.

He was his friend before the Sharon Tate Murders. Dennis and record producer Terry Melcher distanced themselves from Manson once they realised how insane he was. In other words, you don't have a clue what you're talking about and probably shouldn't write things on the internet, just to be safe.

I reread it and stand by it. He was in a pissy mood, apparently. Not good in interviews but a hell of a musician.

Yeah, his drumming was a lot better than his performance at Melbourne two years earlier.

This is the Beach Boys we\'re talking about. Career and PR management is not something they've ever succeeded at post-1966. Interestingly, after Murry left, the only time they had good, strong management was with Jack Rieley, who was always sort of the huckster type. This is the same group that allowed DW on national TV on Good Morning America, where he looked like he was in the throes of acute heroin withdrawal.
