Hard to believe that great Del Shannon was suckered into recording such a lame song.

As a teenager I liked most of Del's songs, but this version of a classic Ian & Sylvia/We Five & Crispian St. Peters song is really dreadful. His singing is off key & his voice is rough. Very sad, but thanks for posting this rather rare recording.

Never heard this Del version

it brought back some old memories but, God, he just had no voice. How blind we were in our youth, however, it is better than any of the crap they sing today.

I saw Del Shannon do a gig at the Fresno Fair's Paul Paul Amphitheater on October 17, 1982 (my 23rd birthday), performing some of his greatest hits, (including his 1961 signature hit, "Runaway". He was one of the featured stars (along with The Coasters and Freddie "Boom-Boom" Cannon) at the Dick Clark Rock-N-Roll Revue (hosted by Dick Clark) This is a very good cover and just as good as Crispian St. Peter's original. R.I.P. Del Shannon(1934-1990) and Crispian St. Peters(1939-2010).
