The Late Great Del Shannon. I was a fan listening to Del Shannon on Radio Luxemburg fading in and out. It was the first record I bought, an old 45 single, still got it and all the other singles he released. ‘Hats Off To Larry’ ‘The Swiss Maid’ and many more. I sang ‘Runaway’ every Friday night in the ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll’ show, working as a Holiday Centre entertainer. One Friday the band lost the keys to pay all the song in and played Runaway in the same key as Del, I only just made top note.
