Love this song. Will do it as a tribute with band in Summer of 2015. Thanks Del for a great remembrance of the '60's.

Another great man taken down by an environmentally sick world. Listen up people, People generally are good. And die of old age or infection. When humans start to die by other means, You need to start looking around at what we live in. Killing oneself is not natural and goes against millions of years of evolution. What could cause that? Chem imbalance in the brain? Pressure of society? A one in a million natural occurrences? You cant point at one thing! Its a sum of all!

Still miss you Del....know that Le Anne did everything she could to make it known to the world what happened to you and know that Eli Lilly's Prozac will never get away with your death! They have killed so many more since they killed you with Prozac. Still cannot believe your doctor lied to you in order to get you to take the drug telling you it was just a mineral you were missing in your brain. You tried to tell him no. The doctor who discovered the serotonin binding process came out against these drugs in 1997 but no one listened. Now the doctor who bought the approval for the drug with a lousy $30,000 bribe is telling the world about the criminal acts that got all these antidepressants on the market. Don't worry Del....you are not forgotten and neither is Eli Lilly for what they did to you. The world WILL know you were murdered by their deadly drug! I promise you!

Del Shannon took his own life I never knew why yet it isn't and wasn't my biz why. I'm sure he had a problem & choice to end his life on his terms

So sad - Del Shannon's tragic suicide, and no Kurt Loder (or someone like him) to do a real journalistic job on music news. RIP, Del; your music has stood the test of time so much better than so many other 60s artists - pre- and post-Beatles.

Oh Kurt Loder, the last bit of intelligence and music knowledge from MTV. And of course, what a tragedy about Del. What a talented, underrated man. He is missed.

Keith, i echo your words, brother, this guy had pipes so unique... so strong and clear as a bell, was his voice, and that "Falsetta" i still cant believe he is gone,Ive listened to practically all of his live performances here, and he never missed a note, and the people loved him, its still sooo sad , I keep on asking my self why, why, why...I know the story, the prozac etc. but its very emotional still it affects me. there arent many who had tha kind of talent/voice, right Kieth?

I saw him many times in the sixties and couldn't believe it when I heard that he took his own life. Was hoping that he would come to the UK again with his friends Bobby Vee and Brian Hyland in one of the Golden Oldies tours.

References to Del Shannon can be heard on the first Wilbury album as well as Tom Petty's Wilbury period album Full Moon Fever. Tracks for the Del Shannon Wilbury album (the incomplete Wilbury 2) ended up on Rock On!, including Walk Away. The re-release of Rock On included Del Shannon's last recording, a demo tape called Songwriter. Recommended are Del Shannon: A Complete Career Anthology 1961 - 1990 and Rock On.

I'm a songwriter in L.A. Del Shannon was my 1st songwriting influence as a kid. I still get chills when I hear that voice...

For anyone who doesn't know about Del Shannon, I recommend his album/CD "Runaway Hits" which is a compilation of his top 40 songs. RIP Del.

They always say it only affects the young adults 18 to 35 , positive proof you have to watch all that shit ! RIP Del !

They say one of the side effects of Prozac or any anti depressants is suicide thoughts ! But they never reported that until after his death ! They also said it hits mostly 18 to 28 year old's, but on rare ocassions, other age groups ! I know because I started having that, and took myself off it !

HOLLYWOOD fame kills people;they get used to adulation & adoration and once it's gone, the emptiness is too great to take. sigh.
