"Never Be The Same" is one of several previously unreleased finished studio recordings that Del made for Dunhill Records, in 1969 and 1970. This was cut at his first Dunhill session, April 16, 1969 (along with "Comin' Back To Me"). Overdubs were done on April 23. Jimmie Haskell arranged the session, which included Del on guitar, Joe Osborn (bass) Hal Blaine (drums) and Don Randi (piano).. Overdub session players included Larry Knechtel (keyboards) and Plas Johnson (reeds).
