My husband, Bob Jares, had the honor of meeting the Reno's when he was working with Wayne Carson. My husband passed in 2003 but I know he truly enjoyed and appreciated their music.

Oh Yeah! Not Del's son, Ronnie, on mando, but Don's son - just love it! Del...what a class act all the way around, even beyond his pickin' an' singin' - a real hard workin' (even when he was loggin') family man; wonderful smile; one of the best hairs in bluegrass and I remember in '63 with him wearing that seersucker while playing gtr and singing with Monroe. This is a wonderful duet clip. Two of the best right here.

@highonbluegrass Uh...Most lead singers can do that. Very few have a voice like Del though, but most professional bluegrass musicians can not only sing all 4 parts...but play any instrument on stage..and play it well. Del McCoury is in a league of his own though no doubt.

Del's voice is as American as apple pie and Baseball. When I think of any bluegrass song in my head, it's Del's voice that I hear. I give all the kudos to Mister Munroe for being a founding father of bluegrass, but I know who has taken that torch and has kept it burning bright. Del you are a true American poet, and teller of beautiful stories.

@highonbluegrass I was just so unaware that so many other people did that. I rarely hear it. But then, Arizona is NOT exactly a bluegrass mecca much to my chagrin.

@venusofwillendorf111 Yes darlin' more common in a female singer was my point exactly. Not quite as impressive as when it comes from a male... But thank you so much for tooting your OWN horn, I'm sure it will be most sincerely appreciated by all the Del fans who watch this video.

@highonbluegrass Let me rephrase that...I sing lead on the verses and then jump to tenor harmony on the chorus all the time.

@highonbluegrass I can and do all the time, and I'm a woman.
