More from the Del Amitri soundtrack to my life - and another girl (ha!). This is fro possibly the prettiest girl I have ever dated...too bad it didn't work out and that she was just taking advantage of my good nature and how much I was besotted with her...oh well, we live and sometime learn...this one is for JK

The sour, self-pitying lyrics (though well-written) are the sole reason this was not a hit in America, although it was in the UK. Read into that what you will.

Badfinger meets 38 Special...a perfect song. Should have been an all time classic.

Heard this several years ago on the music com where I worked and I kept thinking "whazzat?" until I found it - thanks for posting it here, refound it! I must have missed the introduction to the Del Amitri era, sadly! but happy to hear it now. Great stuff, thanks again!!

I fell in love with it when Justin sang it solo acoustic on a radio show in NYC one morning. Yes, kids, that use to happen.

I loved this song from the first time I heard it - and the band - for quite a while.

This has got to be the best song of the 90's and the last great rock song of the last milleneum. It didn't get as many views as I thought, probably because it sounds like it would have a different name and people don't know where to look. I hate to see this song get robbed of credits but that's what probably happened.

Great song. "She wants that one bit of geography I lack..." I think its about a boy who's fallen in love with a lesbian

Absolute heaven for a power pop fan. There is nothing quite as cool as power pop. But just try telling that to Joe Public. They just don't seem to get it. Oh well, that's more for you and me! The original MTV for this song knocked me right on my ass, particularly the guitarist reefing on the neck of the electric guitar, rather than using a wang bar! Very cool stuff! Another gem is The Grays and "Very Best Years." Jason Falkner doin' it again!

This band aren't my fave rave but this song is good. Melodic and powerful. Tom Petty would be proud of this song.

Exactly. It meets the high standards of a McCartney pop ballad.

YEAH! What's up with that? Did Del Amitiri refuse to pay enough payola to get their song the proper air play it deserved? I'm genuinely curious about this.
