Thanks for uploading this song. I have been a huge Del Amitri and Justin Currie fan for many years and just recently cam across this song thanks to youtube. (Watch the live concert of 'Be My Downfall'/'Drowned on Dry Land' - brilliant.) I often thought if only they'd had decent album cover designs they could have sold 10 times as many as they did.

What a great song, thanks for uploading this and all the other Del Amitri and Justin Currie solo songs that you do. Why weren't these guys bigger? I don't understand the music business sometimes. Here's a band with great songs, that actually say something, skilled musicians, and an incredibly talented singer.

@w0l1tsah I assume he wrote it for someone close to him (who is presumably no longer with us). Have to respect that, but it still sucks that a song this beautiful doesn't see wider circulation. Sometimes it feels like it was written for me, and I'm sure it would speak to a lot of other folks as well.

@JustinCurrieFan I went to the concert at Holmfirth last week.At some point, Justin said that he would play a couple of requests and someone shouted out for this song(just ahead of me). He smiled and said something I didn't catch so don't know why he didn't play it. It was a great night - definitely one of the best concerts I've ever been to (confirmation is that most of the songs are still in my head a week later) and it really was "A special evening planned"

@hottunafeldman Thanks for your comment. You are absolutely right regarding the lyrics error. I have listened through all the songs and checked the lyrics but this one I missed. Could be because I am a Swede and English is not my first language ;-) I will try to find time to fix this, but as you probably know time is very hard to find these days.

Thank you so so much for this! I am an avid Del Amitri fan and collector, and this is of course the one song that, inexplicably, doesn't exist on any official recording, even though it's clearly one of their greatest. One thing to know. CampoBassi has one line slightly wrong near the very end; instead of the blackness picking you up and making you "King of the land", the line is actually "king of the lame." You can check Del Amitri's official site for confirmation. Thanks again for this! :)
