Both of our deductions are based on opinion somewhat, so I won't infringe on your own ideas. But in my opinion, the overall sound of a song made by a slam death metal band is much heavier than the tech brutal death band (with slam influences) Defeated Sanity. Although DS does have a darkness and heaviness unique to its sub-genre, it still can't beat the much heavier slam riffs found in slam itself that have a distinct way of leading up to the grand slams with the unique brutality of the riffs.10 years ago

I think Defeated Sanity is much heavier than the bands you listed. There are certain aspects they do that just make it heavier for me. The production, the riffs, the utter musical madness they can create. The atmosphere etc. Their pretty much one of the most unique BDM bands around at the moment. They have put a fresh style into BDM, that no one else has done in a very long time.10 years ago
