Got to be one of my favorite Deerhoof tracks. It seems to achive that special feeling you get from the best prog rock a la King Crimson, Yes etc... but with everything thrown into the pot in a fresh way...guitar polyharmonies, mad drumming and cute vocal lines. Like Radiohead on happy pills :-)

Hey, I think this band is amazing and look forward to hearing and seeing more of them. What they're doing is so unusual and refreshing actually, the closest to something 'avant-gard' I've come across in a very long time. You may not like this or all of it anyway but give it a chance and it might take you somewhere you've never been before! Thanks for posting Px :))

I can barely manage the emotions of this song. I find it to be a fascinating piece and a brilliant composition. I admit I have cried twice listening to it. I haven't become neutral or desensitized to it yet. It stands out in an album that already stands out in my historical landscape. The vid does as well any any vid could.

Certainly the most interesting group out there, maybe aside from Sonic Youth. I like surprises and a combinatin of savvy compositions and fresh beginner's mind approaches. This is a great composition - in 9 and 6, chords are almost Brazilian, then suddenly the frightening dissonances, then just as suddenly the happy little melodies..etc great surprises and setups.
