Deep Six compilation was released March 1986 ). It was the very first release by C/Z Records, a few months before the release of "Sub Pop 100" from Sub Pop Records. It was also arguably the first record to influence the later "Seattle sound" that would be known worldwide as grunge(Wikipedia)

Damn, this is heavier than hell. Utterly brilliant, and just the right length. I still remember the first time I heard them play this at Gorilla Gardens. Fun days.

Oh now I remember - everyone else is just having a normal discussion over definition - and I said hey, let them do it if they want to. Rather than some holier-than-thou guy telling you ''what it is really like'' to shut everyone up.

It's been seven months ago, I don't even know why I replied what I said. But I bet you that most of the times, people arguing about how 'the man' controls you, are the ones who give into it themselves.

The Toadies are a great "post grunge" band with really good tunes on their albums Rubberneck, Feeler, and Hell Below, Stars Above. My favorite bands are Nirvana, Toadies, and Soundgarden!

This has nothing to do with your pseudo-political beliefs. Music genres evolve and change and people find it fascinating to research and enjoy this time line. Let people enjoy and debate for as much as they want to freely.

This is the best song of the 80's 90's and beyond

Pearl Jam was more of an alternative band but Nirvana is definitely grunge, whether it be from Bleach to in utero. Melvins are a bad ass grunge band too. But i don't like post-grunge bands or other bands that copy the genre just because it's mainstream

@acepple95 The Melvins isn't grunge; it's sludge metal. Calling Pearl Jam grunge is kind of pushing it, but even Nevermind's polished sound is still grunge; though not as abrasive(or as good) as In Utero, it still has the characteristic feedback, high gain, and distortion throughout the songs as well as the Pixies's slow verse, hard chorus which eventually became a hallmark of grunge.
