Tommy was pretty shook up, his girlfriend was sleeping around with Glenn, his personal assistant just died/murdered at the previous concert. Took heroin and fell asleep on his arm for hours. Even tried acupuncture to get the blood flowing in his arm...

If I'm right hadn't TB had such an overdose that his left arm was totally numb and he couldn't play with it on this tour properly? Superb guitarist that he was, rest his soul

Master class guitar solo. They should have played this on the USA and England Tour as well. Magical slide solo take !!

Cut him down for his failings with Deep Purple if you like .... anyone who knows anything about guitars knows that he did not really ever jell with this band....(who the fuck else would even have TRIED to replace Blackmore anyways?) Tommy fit much better following Joe Walsh in the james gang, his work on Billy Cobham's 'Spectrum' and his instrumental group 'Energy' were the original template for jazz fusion for Christ's sakes.....Tommy influenced everyone from Jeff Beck to Spyrogyra to Steppenwolf, Soundgarten and Motley Crew..... any of you critics think you could have ever been that influential and only lived to 26 years old is a 'Dreamer'.... pun intended on his masterpiece ballad from 1975's "Teaser" .... if Willie Dixon said the man was the "best guitarist who ever lived" that is enough for me to consider Tommy to at least be ONE of the best who ever lived ....... the man may RIP ..... but...... long live the rock...... & ~ * ^

I was a big fan{postumously}of tommy's solo music, and then a good friend pulled the live deep purple from japan with tommy, and I had to hear it all{james gang, moxy, billy cobham's spectrum}a man who truely played with his whole soul!
