I fucking love this song, so funky sexy and soulful. For me purple was a collective over the years. I still love Come taste the band and listen to it. You fool no one is in the same vein as this song. You gotta remember the band were in Calafornia at the time and huhes was a massive ray charles stevie wonder fan. So taking all that into consideration it suits the time and place the and were the band were in at that moment! Bozz

I forgot about this song. I used to sing it as a little filler while guys were changing instruments and taking a break. Fun, well written and easy to groove to. Glenn's high stuff on this has a smooth run-up so most guys with even a just OK range can sing it with a little ramping. What all of the complainers don't realize is that girls like to dance, not head knock, so these tunes lead to plenty of dancing and dates with real live girls. Coverdale and Hughes wrote these with Blackmore, I don't now and didn't then when I was a teen see how Ritchie left the band because of them. It was his freakin' band. I thought this album sounded like the Derek and the Dominoes blues, which I like. Good album.

Did DP lose their identity on this album or simply diversify and grow musically? The debate rages on.. Either way, this song bears little resemblance to the classic DP sound But there's no denying that it's still a great track.
