What an intriguing musical combination, spanning so many decades in such a mesmerizing way! As I'm sure you know, Vallee wrote the lyrics of "Deep Night," and recorded it at least three times. (This is his 1929 Victor Orthophonic version.) This same recording held a similar fascination for Warren Beatty, who used it in "Bonnie and Clyde."
