it's because this type of band was a dime a dozen in the 90's, didn't matter if they were good or not, they never had a chance purely because of the over-saturation of the genre. Just look at what's happening with dub step and other crap like that today lol

When I met the Pipes brothers, they were sitting down after the show. I walked over to them and they both stood up (Texas gentlemen.) I told Todd that I was a military guy and that his song "Home" really meant a lot to me.

Because back then when the Seattle scene gave us Nirvana, A&R suddenly decided industry-wide and nationwide that they would only sign bands that sounded like "grunge." That left talented and creative groups (like Deep Blue Something) scrambling for a paycheck. Groups like those had to make it on their own. Some didn't get bookings or contracts. Meanwhile, we got saturated with grungy screaming sound-alikes. Later, many musicians decided to make their own records and sell them themselves.

I listened to this album all the way through about 100 times when I first got it back in the mid-90's. Very good band. I met them when they played a Halloween show here in Bakersfield in '01. They were really nice guys also.

I think the industry picks and chooses its winners. They had a number 1 song but could not come back with a better second album. Plus you need a big label to help promote you.

@corruptsoul69 Because everyone realised they could be listening to 'Fleetwood Mac' instead.
