I believe what he means, is that we lose many talents musicians, yet overrated artists and sell outs control the music world today. It's not a matter of respecting other genres. It's to prove your true place in this world as a music connoisseur, it's terrible that they all have passed. It's wonderful though that we can still enjoy their music, day in and day out.
