This is a tribute to the metal legend Chuck Schuldiner. Here's Death covering "God Of Thunder" by Kiss, one of Chuck's favorite bands. I believe this song inspired him to become the great personality he is today. A true God of metal thunder!!

R.I.P. Chuck Schuldiner (1967 - 2001)

ALWAYS REMEMBERED, NEVER FORGOTTEN

I like this one a lot better. He did exactly what I do to older songs I like - cut the cords down and make them heavier. The Human bonus version has this (and others) with no vocal tracts.

All music kicks ass for SOMEBODY even if it don't kick ass for ME! DEATH was one of the few "Death Metal" bands Ithat kiced me in the ass back in those days (as well as Carcass and Cannibal Corpse) cuz I really dug the arrangements of their songs. Well written tunes played with balls on the RR tracks honesty and energy deserves the respect and appreciation of any person who declres themself to into it "for the music," and as I see it, if YOU can't play it you got no place to bitch about it. Freedom of choice makes America beautiful and unique and Free Will makes you YOU, and me, ME. 31 Flavors is much more inspiring and attractive than one flavor for every taste. Like "One Size Fits All" entertainment, it just ain't satisfying.

FYI, KISS didn't exist in the late 60's. They formed the band in 1973 in NY and didn't rise to fame until the mid to late 70's. Black Sabbath, alone, is cited as the pioneers of heavy metal.

Very well said. Many of the most famous rockers say it almost the same way. If we don't know our roots or our heritage, we know nothing at all.

Gotta say if someone was going to cover maiden though, Im sure Chuck would have been more than up to the task. There is an album of all Maiden covers by modern bands..called Maiden Heaven. The machine head one is pretty good \../,

Even though some of those old Maiden toons SOUND easy, its actually the musicianship and skill of the band that make it sound soo good. Trying to covers Maiden tunes can be insanely frustrating!!!! They were masters, and their music sounded so polished and stylized that you recognize the band in 3 seconds, anywhere, even though you never heard this particular song. Because they DIDN'T SUCK. :) Something Im finding it harder and harder to find in newer metal. QUALITY NOT QUANTITY
