Death - Crystal Mountain video free download

I still don't get how this is death metal; it sounds more like thrash to me. Let me explain: death metal is usually supposed to be heavier than thrash, but on a heaviness scale, this album is probably at about the same heaviness scale as Slayer. So shouldn't Death (or at least this album) be considered thrash metal? Opinions anyone?
