I was molested and raped many times when I was only 4 years old. I was never given help for those feelings I had. I was too ashamed to tell them to anyone. After all. I was a male. If I had tried to express what I had gone through. I would have been called faggot and other hurtful things. My abuse was done by two different men and lasted until I was 16 and I had ran off to the Navy. So I grew up with emotional problems never realizing what was causing them. I was known as a trouble maker in our town, although I never really did anything major, until I was older that is. I was 42 years old and I was still having mental issues from the abuse but I didn't recognize them. Then one day I was taking care of a 12 year old niece, and I molested her. She reported it and I plead guilty to what I had done. While incarcerated I was made to tell my story to the sex offender therapist. I told him all about my being raped numerous times when I was 4. I remember them pretty clearly. After jail I stayed seeing a sexual offender therapist for three years. I learned what caused my behavior and how to prevent it from ever occurring again. It's now been 25 years since I offended as a result of my being abused. Any and all children who are abused need to see a therapist to help them deal with there feelings of self worth and disgust. If you know anyone who's child has been abused. Shown them my story. Getting help may break the cycle of abuse. Don't hesitate to get help if you have been abused. And above all else, report the abuse so the cycle can be stopped. Through all of it, I relied on and leaned on the forgiveness and grace of our Lord Jesus. The worse thing is the guilt I feel for abusing someone else and not stopping that pattern of abuse. I have stopped it now and my niece (who received counseling) has turned out to be a good Mother and person and we have an Uncle-niece proper relationship. I urge people who have unresolved abuse issues from their past to get help. You can stop the cycle in it's tracks if you have help to recognize the pattern. God Bless
