I think the budget for this video shoot was about 8 quid lol. Looks like they couldn't even splash out on a drum kit for poor old Dougie lol. Joking aside I love this track. Cant believe Raintown was released nearly 30 years ago. Fellow Hoodlums and Raintown are my 2 fav DB albums. Even now I don't get bored of listening to them.

Raintown is Deacon Blue at their stellar best, a tour de force announcing their presence to the world. Every track is worth its weight in gold and it has to be one of the most complete albums I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. I was stunned by how good it is on first hearing tracks on my local radio station Red Rose in Preston in 1987 and had to buy the album. Over a quarter of a century later the magic is still strong and my appreciation of the album has grown. Loaded is about the idea that the rich can be persuaded to care about poverty but while it may have been partly true in 1987, it seems hopelessly idealistic now, even though the need is urgent in this unequal society. Ricky Ross was excellent in putting the case for a new kind of society on Question Time last week, if Scotland votes yes to independence.If you get the chance to see Deacon Blue live, they are still very powerful.

look at the way Ricky Ross looks at Lorraine at 2.13.It seems like they really liked each other right back in the early days of Deacon blue also when he sings isn't she pretty in dignity he keeps looking at Lorraine.Looks like they had fun making this video but I dont think his car is going to pass the mot and Ricky doesn't seem to be taking much notice of seatbelt laws lol.
