I was lucky enough to live down Earles Row Withernsea Street Stoneferry Hull when Ernie and his family came to live here. At that time Ernie was a coal man for Rafferty and Watson. He would often drop me and his son Philip at Chapman Street school. He really was a lovely man and the image of David. I feel so proud to have known him.

Nice rendition. A little too much "Dudley Doo-Right" in his voice.

Ramona, I hear the mission bells above Ramona, they're ringing out our song of love I press you, caress you And bless the day you taught me to care I'll always remember The rambling rose you wore in your hair Ramona, when the day is done you'll hear my call Ramona, we'll meet beside the waterfall I dread the dawn When I awake to find you gone Ramona, I need you, my own AGAIN RAMONA

He died too young. Having survived D-Day and then to be taken so suddenly at 54 by a brain hemmorhage is so tragic; but, here is this magnificent voice thanks to the recording sciences. .

I think his style of singing somewhat resembles to Mario Lanza.

Yes, it is. David was the King of Romance, and the man with the golden voice, he is unforgetable, and deserves more accolades from the musical world.
