David Tolk has been composing new age piano music for more than ten years and has released two albums containing his melodic compositions. Tolk studied classical piano from his mother, Marilyn Tolk, a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music. He eventually branched out and began composing music inspired by his natural surroundings. Tolk's compositions blend piano melodies with lush orchestration including violin, viola, cello, oboe, English horn, and acoustic guitar. His music is ideal for those seeking a relaxing alternative to a loud and aggressive world. In addition to his musical studies, Tolk holds a B.A. in English literature and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1996. When he is not practicing the piano, he likes to practice some law.

Such beauty and purity...everyone listening to this. Please, close your eyes. I want you to imagine the homeless people out there, the hunger in this world, the people dying of diseases, and the heartaches YOU have felt. A breakup, a death, a longing, a feeling you just can't express. Close your eyes and drift off. See yourself in the light of purity. See your TRUE self.

I lost my mother when I was 10, I'm 15 years old in high school. This song comforts me and gives me hope that I can move on and love others to get through even the deepest pains in life. God bless and prayers to everyone.

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue.Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now.Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

I just let out a deep sigh.My son Griffin asked, "Mommy, what is wrong?."I replied, "Mommy is sad because I just can't get everything done that I need to and it is very frustrating.""Oh" he replies," It is too bad you are not an octopus."If I were an octopus, I'd just surround all arms around this beautiful soul and express my love. And then - I'd assign a task to each arm.Onward just a bit lighter,Jennifer

I heard this song off Pandora too and every time I hear it, it blows me away. Its one of the saddest, most beautiful songs I've ever heard, great work Mr. Tolk.

This song is so beautiful and sad all at the same time. I was listening to my Pandora and walking when this came on. I can imagine this being played at a memorial service. Truly moving.
