Wonderful, simple song. Thanks Matt for your comments, as well! Yes, it does make the song that much more special to me.

Someone is being very petty & critical if they can listen to a beautiful & worshipful rendition of a song like this & call it "theatrical" just because the artist raised his or her and a time or two. Yes, I have seen people get in the flesh & resort to "putting on a show" on some occasions, but the people singing this song certainly did not. The odds are, anyone who thinks they did are simply "Spirit Squelchers" who are scared of any manifestation of worshipping in this manner.Aren't we all tired enough of dead & dry services so that we won't complain when someone sings a song with a little feeling? I know I am! I f If I ask myself which God would prefer, I don't have to ponder the answer long.

I love that this song was both written and made famous by a lesbian..

Jesus died for all that we have to go through, tears, fears, sorrows and shame. His death was for our sins, and for every aspect of our lives, so that we could live to His Glory. And when we sing, ( I've done solos as well as sing on worship teams) we sing with our whole hearts, bodies and hands! Praise God we are still free to lift our hands in holy praise to the Lamb who is worthy!!

Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Every part of us is to be engaged in worship. My hands cannot stand idle when I sing. I want to stretch out my hands to the Living God. I want to be animated and alive as I praise Him. He is ALIVE in me, and believe me, Jesus, did not walk through this earth silent. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

This song is talking about how when times are hard and we are crying, HE will hold us. He loved us so much that he gave his son! Meaning it was not just for sins, but FOR are whole being. Jesus died so that we may live!

My favorite singer is David Phelps but Jesus did not die for anyone's tears, he died for our sins.

The tears represent the hurt, the longing, the guilt brought on by sin. This is an amazingly powerful song, and Christ died for our entire person including our tears.....It could not be more biblical!

Is this his sister Sherri? Does anybody know? I like everything David does and this is great rendition of an old 70's Jesus freaks song. Im still freaky for Jesus, Praise for the highest of all truth

Wow. You got inside their Mind/Heart and figured that out???

He is David's cousin, Jack Daniels and the lady is David's sister who passed away last fall (2012). Jack is in David's band whenever he performs away from GVB. Are you aware that David has been back with Gaither since 2009?

I wish you could make this a better audio there is a lot of distortion. I really am glad you posted this though. Thank You! Sarah!

This song simply is not Biblical because Jesus did not die for our tears, he died for our sins.
