Madder Rain by David Gray

Madder Rain was written in early 1996. Though David Gray played Madder Rain in live performances, he did not record the song in studio until the early 2000's. Madder Rain was featured at the end of the 2004 movie A Way of Life, a movie which primarily featured songs by David Gray.

Madder Rain has not been released on any of David Gray's records and it has not been preformed live in quite a few years. There are 2 sets of lyrics for Madder Rain, the studio version and the live version. Both of which are shown below.

*Madder Rain" (Studio)

Well I don't want nowhere to go

Theres nothing there I need to know

Cause everyday is just the same

The shattered blue, or madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Well I dont

Theres nothing there

And I dont want

*Madder Rain* (Live)

Well I don't want nowhere to go

Theres nothing there I need to know

Cause everyday is just the same

In deeper blue, or madder rain

Count the numbers

Check the sums

Hand it father down to son

Better find someone to blame

For madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

I don't want no one to see

The fear I hide inside of me

The tear that fall now on my shoe

A thousand miles away from you

No use to hide

Nowhere to run

Still hear it falling in the sun

So grab your gun and take a train

For madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Washing you cold

Washing you numb

Washing you further from the one

So fuck it all and laugh again

At madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

Madder rain

I ripped this recording a while back... its from an indie film called "A Way of Life" which David himself contributed alot of the music to. There is also an unreleased alternate version of "From Here You Can Almost See the Sea" :)
