David Jon Gilmour CBE was born in Cambridge, England on 6th March 1946!
Best known as the guitarist, lead singer, and one of the main songwriters in the band Pink Floyd.
Song Where we start is from his solo album On an island. But I used live version fom On an island tour 2006 from Vienne July 31. This version you can find at bonus CD of Special edition Live in Gdansk.

For many years Roger Waters thought he was the genius behind Pink Flloyd... and some fans still think that as well. But the genius of Pink Floyd was the contrast between Roger's harder edge and David's softer moving melodies. It's like Paul and John in the Beatles. But if I had to choose, I prefer the Paul McCartney and David Gilmore side of those equations. You can't take anything away from the magic that these duo's created, but I have always been drawn into the emotions evoked by songs like this one. And we haven't even started talking about David's guitar playing....9 years ago
