I wish artists like David Gates, Bob Dylan, Debbie Gibson Paul McCartney and Ray Davies would consider becoming song writing teachers in order to start steering our current young generation of musicians away from the quick buck crap they're coming out with these days. They just can't seem to grasp the concept that good well written quality songs will generate revenue on their own merit for decades to come. All we get now are songs with the life span of a disposable razor. To think if the likes of Beethoven, Bach and Mozart were still alive today, they'd still be able to live comfortably on the royalties from their early works still being listened to today. I'll bet no one can remember how the last Pit Bull or Jayzee song went, but at least songs by the likes of Bread, the Eagles and the Beatles will still be around for our listening pleasure.
