It is also available on a bootleg called 'David Bowie with Dana Gillespie Make Way For The Rock And Rollers. Fantastic song, really makes me smile wide :-D

@jakestardust2 I hardly know more than you do but I lived through alot of it and was an avid collector of albums and singles, then of course CD's and DVD's. I always found it a challenge to locate these rare songs. I was thinking of trying to create that missing album between Hunky and Ziggy using all these songs we've discussed circa 1969-1972 more or less. Wouldn't that be cool... Shadow Man, Lightning Frightening, Holy Holy (remake?), Looking For A Friend, Conversation Piece, London Bye Ta Ta

@55kudu yes i am VERY aware how hard they are to find, but its always fun to talk with someone who knows more about them than i do!! LOL i do the same for lennon mccartney as well!!!!! and dlyan and young are very good as well, my friend!

@jakestardust2 Really good hunting. It's not easy to find these Bowie gems as I'm sure you know. It's fascinating how many versions and variations there are of his songs, the many releases and packages. Mind-boggling at times. Sometimes I spend hours going over my iTunes listening and studying Bowie's music and adding more to my library, trying to find the right album, CD or single image for complete accuracy in his collection. I do this for Lennon, McCartney, Dylan and Neil Young as well.

@55kudu i found it a while back online trying to find the Rykodisc mix of the song (which i ended up buying later on the man who sold the wold bonus track release), and stumbled upon the actual full stereo mix!! i was pretty excited.. had to share with all! haha

@jakestardust2 JakeStardust, just went over to "Looking For A Friend" and there you are again. You are so cool posting all this great Bowie stuff. Go to that posting my Bowie friend. I love Paul McCartney too with or without The Beatles. I see him on your main page. I think the Rolling Stones "Waiting On A Friend" is very similar to Bowie's own version. Did they steal it!? LOL

@jakestardust2 Your very welcome JakeStardust, namesake of the legendary "Ziggy" himself no doubt. It sounds like you have the 1989 CD bootleg "The Shadow Man" because of the clean sound quality. The first appearance of this song was on a 1984 vinyl EP with terrible sound called simply "Shadow Man", the word "The" differentiates their respective titles. That CD also has a rare song called "Looking For A Friend" which was Bowie in disguise from his record label as the Arnold Corns.

"Rupert The Riley" is a song written by David Bowie, a pre-Hunky Dory outtake that might have been for the rumored cancelled album that should have been between "Hunky Dory" and "Ziggy Stardust". Two studio versions exist, one with sound effects and the other without that found their way to collector's at the end of the 1990s. It can also be found on a 1989 bootleg called "The Shadow Man". This version has the wonderful sound effects. What was your source 'jakestardust'? Thanks for posting.
