Bombers is better than Fill Your Heart. But I suppose it would have been a bit out of place on the album where the only real rocker is Queen Bitch.

Regardless, "Bombers", "Fill Your Heart" and the other 10 songs on Hunky Dory would have all fit together without exceed the time limit. So it clearly wasn't about space; Bowie I guess didn't want "Bombers" on there.

I think this song fits with the rest of Hunky Dory far better than Fill your Heart does, which is either too sappy or too vicious, depending on your impression.

It's a good, but I glad he replaced it with "Fill Your Heart" because it fits so much better... though "Bombers" is better than "Eight Line Poem" oddly enough Bowie could have fit in "Bombers" without even getting rid of a track since its still under 45 minutes...so the records in 1971 would be able to fit it...
