The lyrics may be a tad unimaginative and less on the artsy and abstract side… However I am still very moved by how honest and completely lacking in a cryptic sense the words are… The dude was suicidal and so depressed he was sick to his soul…. He experienced a string of numerous vapid relationships that were empty and more based on physicality rather than emotional substance. This was a man that seemingly "had it all" but truly had nothing and he wanted to communicate this to the masses… A sick heart and debilitating drug addiction is an affliction that does not discriminate race, socio-economic class, creed, or the financially, or artistically well-off. Sorry for the wordy diatribe, but I love this song because of Dave's honesty and attempt to deconstruct his poisonous cynicism and other tools he's used to avoid dealing with his empty existence. In fact one of the coolest things ever was being able to praise his painful honesty on this song in person over the telephone, a girl I was casually dating at the time knew Dave in LA and let me jump on the phone with him and the subject of conversation was Rexall, which I truly was honored to speak to him personally about.

I bought this album when it first came out and I was a little excited about it because I've always liked his guitar playing and his image but unfortunately I was disappointed by the album. This was the only good track in my opinion. He's one of the best guitar players but not a very good song writer.
