Such a personality, my god. He couldn't contain himself. It's like he had so much to say... but couldn't say it because he was performing. What an inspiration.

The sound on this is fantastic! And mr (why do I assume you're a man?) RK807. You don't have to see what the big deal is. That's what choice is all about. Otis, Al, were fantastic, no doubt about it. Lyle leaves me dry, but whatever. We dig Dave & the Guys, you don't. It's not necessary to hang on a DMB fan page and rag on the band. We won't try and convince you ~

Big deal. Most of you Dave Mathews fans probably don't know anything about Otis Redding. I do. Mathews was born the year Redding died. You people think Otis Redding's career started (and ended) with Dock of the Bay. That probably was not even among the top ten of Otis' great songs. Look for the Otis Redding Live in Europe album. You'll see Otis at his best. And that was before "Dock of the Bay," a middlin' song among Otis' many great ones.

I still don't see what the big deal is about this guy. I see no remarkable talent to speak of; he's very mediocre from what I can see. He's saved on this by doing a great song. Want to see a great version, look for the duet by Al Green and Lyle Lovett that was recorded for the documentary "Country Rhythm and Blues." Maybe somebody posted it on Youtube. Far superior. This guy is weak and whiny. No passion.

The crowd erupted because that particular lyric was a nod to Otis Redding. I enjoyed it.

he's probably in front of 10-15,000 people in this show...by himself. you would crap your pants 6 times. Plus, have you ever had his band play live....no talent? fuck off

If you don't care for how the man does things that's fine. However, to say that he has no talent is erroneous...on a few different levels.

I don't understand what the big deal is over this guy. He's not a good singer or performer and during this very mediocre performance, al of a sudden, the crowd erupts--over nothing! He's got absolutely no talent.
