I was actually working as a volunteer for WXPN (University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA) radio station back in 1974 and, its format at the time was all jazz. So, 1 day, I went to talk to 1 of the DJ's in between shows, and he was removing stacks of albums from the shelves and throwing them into a large trash can.I asked him why he was throwing the albums away, and he said, "Oh those? This is a jazz radio station, and those are all rock 'n roll albums. They send them to us all the time but we don't have any use for them. We DO need the shelf space though".So, I asked him if I could take some of them and he said, "Sure. Help yourself". Dave Mason's "Dave Mason" and "Alone Together " were 2 of the albums in that stack. Man, what A find. I have been obsessed with his version of the song ever since. I made the 1st 30 seconds into my main ringtone for my phone and constantly get people asking me, "Wow, who is that"?

You chopped off the beginning of the song. Bummer. He really pours on the passion on this version. :)

Abso brilliant version of this classic Dylan tune, from the man who played rhythm guitar on Jimi's version. Now IF ONLY I can find "Headkeeper" from "Dave Mason is Alive", I'd post it for all you who know the brilliance of Dave mason.
