Yes..I saw Glitter on Quo's End Of The Road show at Milton Keynes. I bought a few of his singles too..I loved Rock n Roll Parts 1 & 2. Noddy should have been a fairground barker..Helluva voice!

Yes. Mr Paul Gadd. Pervert he might be but he was fun to see.R&R Pt's 1&2, were ahead of the time, with the use of drum loops. His Xmas/New Year shows were brilliant too. Slade were absolutely amazing Live. Noddy Holder great voice & frontman.

Well..no..HMS Victory obviously has a place in our national history, and going to look around the ship is far removed from going to see a tree where MB died. Better to listen to his music and read about him than gawp at a tree. I agree with you about Slade..I saw T.Rex and Slade and I thought that Slade were far better. MB was not a great Live performer, he was into posing and preening..he also forgot words and extended songs so to show how " good " he was at playing guitar. Gadd = Glitter?

So you could say, going to see HMS Victory is for 'ghouls & Freaks'? I wouldn't go on a pilgrimage, but nothing wrong in stopping if you have to go past a certain spot. As for your' Man Utd of quiz teams, I'm a bit like that myself, although I'd rather be compared to Liverpool of the late 70's & 80's. I myself do not rate MB & his treatment of John Peel just showed what a tool he was. As 70's performers go.Slade were hard to beat as was Mr Gadd, both of whom I've seen many times.

I haven't been to the spot where he died..that's for ghouls and freaks. He's not most famous for dying young..you're showing your ignorance now Stevo. I don't know a " bit " about MB I know quite a lot...as I do about all forms of music. I once won a pop quiz single handed..and I was the main cog in a pub quiz team that won more or less every week...the Man Utd of quiz teams. So anything you need to know just ask..I'll be happy to help improve your knowledge.

I didn't need to Google anything. I was a liitle Brother so grew up listening to Glam rock & lot's before & after. I have little interest in MB. Do I care why a singles banned? No. So you know a bit about Marc Bolan...Surely any fan of UK/British R&R might well know about Bolans death, especially if they've stopped & looked at the infamous 'spot'? Marc Bolan was a . in Rock history. He died young & that's the 'thing' he's most famous for. You're a MB fan. Well done, I won't encourage you now.Bye

Stevo...I see you dropping in little facts about Marc Bolan..ie..the Mini and John's Children, you obviously have either Googled or you think you know a lot. So tell me..what was John's Children's 3rd single and why was it banned by the BBC? Oh by the way..no apostrophe in " holes "...pedantic I know but...

I love the way 'Pedants' like to pick hole's in things. As I said, most people would understand exactly what I meant, without a discourse about Marc Bolan. Take a ride in a mini 1275 GT, along a Rd lined with trees & no Armco barrier. Get a sense of humour.

I love the way morons say " calm down " when they've been proved to be wrong. Reading your comment it seems to you who is getting upset. Where did I mention John's Children? I can't find that part. I know exactly what it's short for, but as I said they were a different band with that name except for Marc Bolan. So T.Rex did not write Debora...Marc Bolan did....got it?

Calm down. What do you think T.Rex is short for? Most people, who know a little about 70's Glam would know exactly what I meant, hence my Tongue in cheek smug smile. Take your' pedantic little self & go knock one out, there's a good boy.....I didn't need a whole fucking history of Marc Bolan/Johns children/T.Rex or Tyrannosaurus Rex. Just cause there were a few different members the name stayed the same. All happy for the night now?

Smug smile or not...I don't see how you can be right when you said it was by T.Rex when it was by Tyrannosaurus Rex..an almost completely different band. The re-release was issued under the name Tyrannosaurus Rex. So to say it was by T.Rex is WRONG. Live with it! If you'd said Marc Bolan wrote it you'd be right..but you said T.Rex. " Smirk ".

Thanks for the details..I was right (tongue in cheek ,smug smile) :) ;) xx

Marc Bolan wrote Debora while the band were still called Tyrannosaurus Rex..1968 I think. It was on an album titled..Prophets Seers And Sages, The Angels Of The Ages. Track 1 Side 1/DeboraArobed. It featured the song being played the right way, then backwards. The forward version was re-released as a single in 1972 at the height of T.Rex mania.

Terry Williams´ work is unbelievable.. Listen to the bell effect on the ride cymbal! Also, Nick on bass sounds relatively sober, if there is a way to tell a difference...

I named my daughter after this song. I really did. 1983, Manchester: it was playing on the radio in some café on Oxford Road, because it was Dave Edmunds' birthday. I was on my way to an ante-natal check at St Mary's Hospital. Very young, very confused. Hadn't even dared to think about names. Song stuck in my head. April 15th has been known as Dave Edmunds Day in our family ever since. Happy birthday Dave Edmunds! (aged 69, April 15th 2013) Happy birthday Deborah! (aged 30, April 18th, 2013) xx

Agreed. The UK seemed to appreciate Rock and Roll more (as the charts show), which pretty much set up the British Invasion.

One influence I overlooked when I first heard this track was that of Johnny Ray; you can definitely hear it in DE's vocal intonations. Both Ray (who's career continued over there after it had been sidelined by scandal in the US) and Eddie Cochran seemed to have left more of an impression in the UK than they did here.

Long, looong time fan of Dave; thank you so much for this beautiful cut. It is nostalgia on my part or is Terry Williams really just one of the best and most underrated drummers in Rock? From the primal tom rolls at the beginning to that beautiful release into a Latin groove with all the hat work...I defy anyone to sit still :-) What joy that we have such music.

Great song, never heard it before. It's ironic that the Crickets have a song called "Deborah," but more importantly, this song bares a lot of similarities to "My Little Girl" by them as well (as previous posters have pointed out). Then again, "My Little Girl" was inspired by "Sheila" by Tommy Roe, which was inspired by "Peggy Sue" by the Crickets (with Buddy Holly). Figure THAT out!
