i think this album is trying to be too epic for its competence. i dont know though, but i was here before but never stuck around for a reason.

Darzamat aren't writing symphonies or symphonic poems; they're symphonic black metal. Search it on the top bar and tell me you find a single classical-style black metal band.

Agreed, but the point still stands that they aren't calling themselves orchestral, and "orchestral" isn't the same as "symphonic".

Maybe as far as you're concerned, but unless they expressly state they're classical then you have to assume they aren't trying to *be*, or sound, classical.

...but this is symphonic black metal, not classical. I don't think they've ever claimed to be classical.

I suggest you go listen to classical music if you're after deep, contextually rich and thought-provoking melodies, "textures" and "colours" (?!) in the music; if you want symphonic black metal, stay and enjoy.

I agree with you there, but I don't think Darzamat have ever called themselves classical, otherwise I too would expect to hear some classical influence / compositioning. "Symphonic black metal" just tells me I should expect black metal with synths, heavily orchestrated or otherwise.

I know what orchestration is, but I don't think a good orchestrated piece has to have as many notes as possible to make it "good" - it only has to appeal to the listener. Sometimes it can be simple *and* effective, like in this song. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that your opinion was pointless and unconstructive; can you give examples of (what you deem) better orchestration? Don't confuse note quantity with intelligence.

I suggest a change of hobby then because you only bothered "critiquing" the orchestration; not very in-depth or "intellectual" was it? If you're going to use fancy words at least try to sound like you know how to use them first, please.

Considering your original comment, no. Why did you bother?
