As with most Daryl Hall songs, this has killer ad libs towards the end. Fripp has talked about the way Hall uses his voice as an instrument and you can understand what he means at the end of this song.

Easily one of the greatest unheard/under-appreciated albums of all time

I thought "Something in 4/4 Time" should have been a hit as a single. We played the hell out of it at my college station. Whole album is brilliant.

This LP was shelved by RCA for years. Didn't know how to market it? Or who the audience was? Didn't sound like Hall & Oates huh? Or King Crimson. It wasn't supposed to. It didn't have a hit single. OMG. So what? People buy LPs by an artist. Sometimes I feel a music background with a business one is necessary to make it work. Those excuses for not releasing this LP for years seemed lame even to a 20 year old. Fripp & Hall? That pairing alone was a miracle. Fripp even worked with The Roches.

FYI Google myspace Hall & Oates sacred songs. 2nd link lists every song except the bonus tracks.

such an under rated album...and practacally unnoticed back then...yeah, fripp and hall on paper, looks whack but the results were satisfying...loved it in the 80's...and still do

@giuliocaroletti It's not really the artists it's their record companies that's responsible for that. Take per se WMG. They're at odds w/us the users. Actually I've never heard the album in its entirety but I'm very fond of the works of Robert Fripp especially what he did w/King Crimson. He's a genius mind.

@bucky468 You definitely should, if you really like the album. That's the good thing about the tube. I wonder why artists often make us remove videos and so on, when it's just free publicity :)

@giuliocaroletti I may end up buying the CD anyhow. It's less than $7 at Barnes & Noble online. Sounds like a bargain.

I once heard the punky "You Burn Me Up I'm A Cigarette" on "Little Steven's Underground Garage" when my local station still had that show. That should be posted also. The minds of Fripp & Hall worked well together to make a gem of an album in this.

Too bad only 2 or 3 songs from this LP are posted at YT. I wish someone would post songs like "Something In 4/4 Time", "NYCNY", "Don't Leave Me Alone Without Her" & "Survive" (the latter 2 are epics) from this same album which fell short making the Top 50 of the Billboard album charts.

Thanks for adding this song... it's always been one of my favourites, Daryl's voice is superb as usual.
