What pisses me off is people making such a big deal about genres. What wrong with it being MDM, it's a wide genre and the sound can differ greatly. Keep it simple, don't invent an original genre for each band. Traditional heavy, speed, thrash, death, black, doom, power - or all the melodic/symphonic/technical variations. We don't need to make it any more complicated. Sounds change, basics stay the same.

Sheesh, if you think death metal has to deal solely with gorey lyrics or have low growling vocals you're pretty narrow minded. Meshuggah is another great example of this. The growls are in a medium range and most of their lyrics contemplate life, death, intelligent, spirituality, and meditation.
