Agreed. I think that's one of the most important things to remember when covering a song. If people want to hear something that sounds just like the original, they can listen to the original. Artists who want to cover a song should be themselves, do it their own style, make the song their own, not try to be the original artist. And it seems like that's what Darin has done here.
