A year flies by and danny is still a better singer songwriter and guitarist than anyone. No dazzle, no emoting, simply more great songs .

"Peter didnt" ...so true but imo Peter in his prime reached a level no one did. Listen to "I've got a mind to give up living" posted by stoffe2 Anyway, tks for the sub and enjoy the music. Have a nice day. Vanu.

jimi hendrix named danny when asked which guitarist he most admired, buddy guy did play with danny and was in awe of him. as were the rolling stones. and peter , too many years later , admitted danny was needed to finish underway and albatross, his two instrumental masterpieces. danny went on to create dozens more wonderful songs , peter didn't .

Not so sure about Danny not being able to shine PG's shoes..Kirwan was every bit Green's equal by 1970.Half of 'Then Play On' is Danny! How could he not be? They lived together musically..Check out Kirwans post-Green output. Pretty impressive, and I love Greeny's playing..

I don't know how old you are, but I've seen Jimi and Danny LIVE...Up close...It was like seeing a supernatural god and a mere mortal...Man vs child...On and on...You are obviously very taken with Danny, as am I, but please don't make a fool out yourself...Danny can't shine even Peter Green's shoes, his idol, but Hendrix is in another dimension from ANYBODY in composing, lyrics (CRUCIAL aspect...Made him elite...) and certainly guitar playing...Jimi's voice wasn't the best, but adequate ..

peter green is awesome and revered in texas. our home grown treasure eric johnson is as wonderful as any guitarist as well. django r and buddy guy and wes montgomery and hubert sumlin are four more phenomenons. bernard sumner and danny kirwan have satisfied at every possible turn; bernard has nearly always shared writing credit with stephen, peter, gillian , j. marr, phil cunningham, jake evans , and more. an obvious similarity of dedication to the song is shared with danny

Hé James, tks for your comment. Now we're both grown-ups so I'm not gonna argue who's the best guitarplayer, but please mention in your list the great Peter Green....:) Danny was Peter's protege. Check out my upload "Something inside of me" by Danny with the Mac live from Shrine69. Its great! Have a nice day. Vanu.
