On this day in 1971 {March 28th} Danny Davis & the Nashville Brass performed "I Saw the Light" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'... Her version didn' make Billboard's Hot Top 100, but reached #6 in Norway, #17 in France, and #39 in the United Kingdom... It reached #129 on Billboard's Bubbling Under the Top 100 chart... Danny Davis, aka George Joseph Nowlan, passed away on June 12th, 2008 at the age of 83... R.I.P. Mr. Davis and Mr. Sullivan {1901 - 1974}...

I remember, my brother having a trumpet and being lead trumpen in the high school ban, me pretending to play along with this and many other Danny Davis songs. The arrangements sounded so cool! Now I know that they really were!

I remember hearing Danny Davis when I was a kid around 1971 it was the "Super Country" album. It made me want to play the trombone so thats what I took up in school. Do you have anything off of that album?
