At first hearing, this song is about a group of Sinners who have become content with their lives of wrongdoings.But after researching the artist, Daniel himself, I get an entirely different meaning out of this song.Firstly, it is important to note that in the documentary of Daniel there are a couple of things to note about him. First, he is very mentally ill. And part of his illness is this kind of paranoid fear of the Devil and Hell. Daniel, is a Christian. He writes this song as a satire of all of the sinners in the world who are "marching to hell" in their daily lives. There are many people who claim to be Christian, but they do not do anything based on faith, nor do they help people, and they are consonantly sinning without any care for what they are doing.Daniel, probably believes that he himself is a part of this "wicked world" that is marching to hell. I take this in context from his fear of the Devil in general. In a way, he himself is a sinner under these assumptions he has made. So he does not say, "the world" in his song, he says "we're the world"."we're the world the wicked world"The world is a wicked place that is constantly doing evil."We know what we're doing, we're marching to hell."There's a bit of an arrogant claim in all of us. We all for some reason think that we are living good, moral lives, but we hardly do anything to help this world. But we arrogantly claim, "I know what I'm doing, I'm a good person, and that's all that matters." Even though we're hardly good at all. So we're marching blindly straight into Hell without even realizing. This is what Daniel is saying.

the funny thing is though the lyrics aren't sang exactly from Daniel's perspective though. he was brought up in a staunch christian family and Daniel is a christian to this day.

A piano astute person can help ya on those chords if he hasn't screwed with his tuning like he does with his guitar. I talked with Daniels excommunicated Austin buddy and he don't even know wtf Daniel was doin' with the guitar tuning. Dig the Beatles ripoff at 2:05 - 2:10, lol.
