@bluegemini1976 First time I saw the moon walk, I was at a Gap Band concert in 1981, and a background dancer did it. I thought it was an illusion.

@DaddySinister Another early moonwalker was popper and singer Jeffrey Daniel, who moonwalked in a performance of Shalamar's "A Night To Remember" on Top of the Pops in the UK in 1982, and was known to perform backslides in public performances (including weekly Soul Train episodes) as far back as 1974.[15] Michael Jackson was a fan of Jeffrey Daniel's dancing and would eventually seek him out.

@DaddySinister actually, the moonwalk was first done by Cab Calloway in the 30's. (i looked it up.) But the guy from Shalamar did it before MJ.

@bluegemini1976 MJ had already moon walked by the time this came out...he wasn't the first to do it either.

@PedroGMan When they did this on Soul Train, Shalamar were more relaxed in their performance and the audience participation was limited, especially during the breakdancing part. On American Bandstand and Solid Gold, the crowd went apeshit!

@TheRenstarmusic I don't think there is much confusion to "Classic Shalamar" the line-up of Hewett with original members Watley and Daniel, "Take That To The Bank".. "A Night To Remember", "The Second Time Around", "This Is For The Lover In You", so forth the line-up people lament for reunion as covered in Unsung as flawed as the episode was maybe you misunderstood the comment. Shalamar in it's peak comprised various elements which can't be denied, no confusion. Later versions are 'OK' not great

@TheRenstarmusic Hmm, not really Shalamar "Classic" and Original comprised the distinct"sound" of Jody Watley in the harmonies, the dancing, charisma, style leading the way of original and classic members Jeffrey Daniel and Jody Watley. If Howard "made" Shalamar solely and of course we respect Howard but the group Shalamar was never the same after Watley and Daniel split in 1983 and that's a fact, this soundtrack sound doesn't really count and let's not forget prod Leon Sylvers who HH fired
