Isn't it amazing how some bands that were only together for 3 yrs had such a profound effect on the 60s scene? Cream, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix were 3 of the greatest to come out of those wonderful times. sigh......

I'll never forget my brother bought this album when it came out all those years ago. He was a great drummer, and respected Baker's work. I didn't want to bother my bro, cause he seemed so intent listening to this album, so I used to press my ear against his bedroom door and listen. He opened the door to leave the room once and I fell into the bedroom! From then on he let me in his room to listen. You know how big brothers are....

Today I had this hauntingly beautiful melody in my head for several hours, I knew it's Cream, but I couldn't remember the name of the song. Searched for it on their discography and tried several titles until I got this. It's been three days since Jack Bruce passed away... May he rest in peace, one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century!

I can see all those blonde English hippie "Birds" dancing in their colored frocks to these timeless classic! Jack Bruce, RIP, was the amazing voice and writer of this great band...a modern day English romantic poet in the manner of Keats and Shelley...not quite as literary of course! Their best album by far, to these ears anyway, and one of my all time favorite tracks. Some of the finest English Rock ever by a trio of great musicians...great stuff!
