Title track and a single from an album dedicated to the decade of her birth, the 1950s. This was her 10th studio LP in just 15 years as a professional singer. Yet - amazingly - none made the UK Top 40! One album that did make the chart was the Christmas release and TV advertised Everything is Beautiful, issued by Warwick Records in 1980. It reached #43. But her biggest selling album must surely be The Rosery from 1991. In her second autobiography, All Kinds of Everything, published in 2007, she writes that sales for that CD have passed one million units!
If I Give My Heart To You was a US Top 10 hit in 1954 for Doris Day. (DANA writing about her first trip to America in 1970: "But the greatest highlight for me was when I saw Doris Day in person. She came to our hotel for lunch, on her bike, dressed in a pair of cut-off cotton trousers and a T-shirt, with her blond hair pulled back in a pony tail.")
If I Give My Heart To You lyrics:
If I give my heart to you
Will you handle it with care
Will you always treat me tenderly
And in every way be fair
If I give my heart to you
Will you give me all your love
Will you swear that you'll be true to me
By the light that shines above
And will you sigh with me when I'm sad
Smile with me when I'm glad
And always be as you are with me tonight
Think it over and be sure
Please don't answer till you do
When you promise all those things to me
Then I'll give my heart to you
And will you sigh with me when I'm sad
Smile with me when I'm glad
And always be as you are with me tonight
Think it over and be sure
Please don't answer till you do
When you promise all those things to me
Then I'll give my heart to you
