Damian Dame was an R&B duo consisting of Debra Jean "Deah Dame" Hurd (September 20, 1958 - June 27, 1994) and Bruce Edward "Damian" Broadus (September 13, 1966 - June 27, 1996).

In 1991, Damian Dame became the first act signed to LaFace Records.

The duo released their self-titled debut on May 14, 1991, and it spun off three urban radio hits, "Exclusivity," "Right Down To It," and "Gotta Learn My Rhythm."

"Right Down To It" was a classic LA & Babyface production.

The artists were set to be one of LA & Babyface's top acts, however tragically, Hurd was killed in a moped accident in Atlanta, GA on June 27, 1994 just before the group was set to record a second album.

Broadus died of colon cancer on June 27, 1996 exactly two years after his partner's passing. It has been said by people close to the situation that Broadus' death was due to AIDS-related complications.

Damian had a child with Carol Morrow named Sky who was featured on the MTV show "My Super Sweet Sixteen"

Tornado1994

In 1994, Damian Dame was preparing to record their sophomore album when tragedy stuck, Debra Herd died on Monday evening June 27,1994 at 35 when her car skidded out of control during a Thunderstorm in Atlanta,GA. Damian himself grieving the sudden loss of his good friend, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in October '94 shortly after starting work on his solo album "199Sex". He succumbed to the disease after an 18 month battle on Thursday June 27,1996. He was just 29. A sad and heartbreaking end for the both of them. They ironically died within two years of each other on the same date.

Wow. I remember this video and song. Enjoyed it a lot obviously hence the reason I am here. I was a high-school Jr when Deah passed, and then I graduated the year Damien passed. So sad.... both these artists coincidental or unfortunately passed away on my birthday two years apart from each other. That's so crazy and a little eerie to me personally. May they both be resting in heavenly peace.
