Yes Dame Bassey is incomparable, but there is no need to dash Nancy.

Nancy Sinatra's version is probably the greatest crime against a Bond song ever perpetrated as she was an inept singer, at least for this kind of songs which require powerful singers like Bassey or Jones. (The A-ha probably did worse with The Living Daylights: but the song wasn't just as good) A pity that Bassey recorded the song with this (good) arrangement which can't hold a candle to the original with that string riff which could make a song by itself.

The originals for that one are truly awful, but I really like this version, I would like a bassey version with a full orchestra better, but I still love this version. It really reminds me of what an amazingly beautiful song John Barry composed for this film

this is the only Shirley Bassey album I was disapointed with,1987. no wonder she took action in the courts. what was her management thinking of. ?? A James Bond album should have had a huge orchestral backing and where was `The Man with the Golden Gun`. Th eworst track was ` We have all the time in the world ` the original by Loius Armstrong is superb
