On this day in 1966 {October 8th} two versions of "Dommage, Dommage {Too Bad, Too Bad}" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; Jerry Vale's version peaked at #93 while Paul Vance's rendition reached #97 {both versions stayed on the Top 100 for two weeks}. One year later Shirley Bassey covered it in her album 'And We Were Lovers'. Mr. Vale, born Gennaro Luigi Vitaliano, turned 81 three months ago on July 8th, Mr. Vance will be 84 on November 4th, & Ms. Bassey turns 77 this coming January 8th.
