I think Dame Kiri brought a great gift to those of us who love these songs. The performances by Broadway singers are fine in their own way, but she contributes to the songs the extra beauty of her voice. And she also is a talented actress and can do an American accent.

@windstorm1000 She never tried to erase those performances, but has only added to a wonderful legacy of musical talent performing these amazing songs. Go storm your wind elsewhere you nutty purist.

Never erases Mary Martin or Mitzi Gaynor from doing the role--Kiri stay away from Broadway--doesn't fit your voice. Stick with Mozart!! We'll ALL be happy then.

Dan. She has been performing in Japan. I think she has even appeared in the United States. Her style is not in keeping with the US who prefer Renee Fleming and Austrian superstar Anna Netrebko.
